I'm still coming down from all the excitement of our of sold-out Inaugural Dreamers Brunch. It was an amazing Sunday afternoon spent at one of my favorite local restaurants with a group of women all interested in learning more about Hello Dreamers. My team and I worked so hard to put this event together. There may or may not have been a few late nights of assembly fueled by pizza, orange soda and tons of sleep deprived laughter, but the final result was well worth the effort. We totally earned those chunky chocolate chip cookies!
Honestly, this event couldn't have gone any better. There isn't a single thing we'd change. Our goal was for women who were genuinely interested in our purpose to attend this event and that's exactly what happened. These ladies will always be VIPs in our book for choosing to support this "start-up" event based on our short two-month history online. We look forward to many more events and your continued support.
I remember stepping out of the dining room early on in the afternoon to touch up my makeup. I felt so nervous wondering if people would be impressed with the decor and if they'd enjoy themselves - you know typical hostess anxiety - when suddenly I heard the most amazing sound, laughter. Loud, happy laughter. The room was filled with ladies who brought such an inspiring energy. We could have easily extended the meet and greet and ended the event without a single word from me, but these women wanted to hear from me, little ol' "I prefer to work in the background" me. They wanted to know why I decided to launch Hello Dreamers. I told them. It's simple really. We deserve opportunities to gather together to be inspired, to enjoy the company of fellow dreamers and to have a moment to reflect on where we are in life.
I believe that the magic in hosting Hello Dreamers events will not only come from providing an inspirational setting but also by focusing on the interests of people who may attend and by being honest about what they can expect at our events.
Here's to many more events!
